Currently we are looking for a Senior Data Integration Engineer (ETL/Oracle) for our Krakow office to make the team even stronger.

One of strategically important emerging units within EPAM is seeking to employ the offshore (Poland) Data Integration Engineer to be a part of the development team in healthcare space for our Client - one of the largest healthcare service companies in US.

The project team is responsible for our Client’s in-house developed IT solution, which includes integration platform, workflow engine and a few portals. This solution is a part of an end-to-end US Retail Platform for browsing, learning, shopping, purchasing, billing and enrolling in our Client’s medical, dental, behavioral, and medical supplemental products. The team strives to enable the Client’s organization to satisfy business customers by continuous delivery of valuable and high-quality software that drives business performance.

  • Map user stories to detailed technical specifications
  • Analyze data, generate mockup data
  • Analyze data sources, perform data profiling
  • Design, implement, maintain and optimize ETL/ELT strategies and processes, data visualization dashboards & reports
  • Communicate with different stakeholders, including both technical and business-oriented people
  • Design, implement, test, deploy, maintain and document solutions, participate in code reviews
  • Operational triage of bugs, failed test cases and system failures
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas


  • University degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong experience with IT projects, at least 3 fully participated and delivered projects
  • Strong, hands-on experience in developing ETL solutions and/or Streaming Pipelines (proficiency in any ETL tool, e.g. Informatica, IBM DataStage, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica, Pentaho, Talend, Apache Oozie, Airflow, NiFi; Streamsets etc), ability to lay pipelines across multiple systems
  • Using data engineering tools, languages, frameworks to mine, cleanse and explore data
  • Programming experience in of Python or related to implement ETL pipelines
  • Decent understanding of Oracle DB internals, strong RDBMS and SQL skills (SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, relational schemas; SQL optimization)
  • Familiarity with Data Visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, QlikView
  • Strong experience in understanding business requirements and dimensional modelling
  • Version Control Systems: Git
  • Build Systems: Maven, SBT, Ant, Gradle
  • Customer facing experience
  • Solid communication and inter-personal skills
  • Experience in SDLC, especially testing and deployment
  • Experience with Agile delivery (Scrum)
  • English of B1+ level

Nice to have

  • Experience in working within cross-location teams
  • Experience delivering in SAFe delivery model
  • Experience in various messaging/streaming systems, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ
  • Exposure in developing real time pipelines using Kafka/Kinesis or related
  • Openshift, Docker, Kubernetes, Yarn
  • Experience with distributed data processing technologies such as Spark/Hadoop/EMR
  • Rest, Thrift, GRPC, SOAP
  • NoSQL: MongoDB, Cassandra/ Hbase
  • InMemory: Ignite, Redis
  • Search: Solr, Elasticsearch/ELK
  • Big Data stack experience: Hadoop, Yarn, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Flume, Sqoop, Zookeper
  • Cloud experience with leading cloud
  • Experience in a healthcare sector
