What You’ll Do

  • Perform on-boarding new FIX connections to customer’s trading system:
    • Acquire all technical documentation from counterparties (brokers, exchanges, vendors etc.)
    • Gain understanding of how new connections will integrate into customer’s trading workflows
    • Determine how to best configure the customer’s trading OMS leveraging both vendors provided configuration and OMS customization to both comply with counterparty FIX requirements and ensure business workflow goals are met
    • Coordinate with networking team and counterparties establishing the physical connectivity for both test and production connections
    • Perform certification testing with counterparties
    • Manage final release of the connection into production
    • Participate in progressive automation of connections certification and regression tests
  • Support of existing connections:
    • Investigating connectivity issues (both logical and physical) in production and test environments
    • Respond to connectivity-related tickets from end-users (production and testing environments)
    • Proactively monitor and obtain from counterparties updated specifications, re-certify connections as needed

What You Have

  • A degree in an associated field and/or other advanced certification along with significant experience
  • Practical knowledge of FIX protocol (order flow is a must). Hands-on skills of FIX logs analysis and troubleshooting
  • 3-5 years practical experience in on-boarding new and maintaining existing FIX trading connections with brokers and exchanges
  • Network understanding and technical troubleshooting skills in context of establishing physical connectivity for trading
  • Experience in performing gap analysis in the context of FIX specifications and producing technical specifications for FIX connectivity implementation
  • Experience in working directly with end customers/business and vendors, brokers, exchanges, production support and other teams
  • SQL knowledge
  • SDLC understanding and experience working in Scrum
  • DevOps mentality and scripting skills

  • .NET/C#
  • QA automation
  • Experience working in BA or QA role in area of capital markets, trading, FIX protocol
