Responsibilities    Responsible for project testing approach and coordination   Introduce testing process and maintaining meaningful metrics to measure progress   Prioritize test cases and help users to define acceptance criteria   Create testing plan  Estimation of testing resources and time needed; perform coordination of those resources   Lead design, creation and implementation of test cases   Provide testing reports to project stakeholders   Manage and coordinate work with a large diverse team across the globe   Create tester training material   Provide guidance to testing team   Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing   Participate in project meetings    Requirements    Strong in Database testing and API Testing ( Postman Or Fiddler)  5-8 years of experience in software testing.   Strong knowledge in Software Testing fundamentals, test design and testing theory.   Experience in testing client-service application is must be (web services testing (SOAP/REST) using Soap UI or relevant tool);    Experience in End to End, Integration, Installation, Regression, Smoke and Ad Hoc    Good knowledge and experience of work with the following DB and tools is required    Postgres and SQL Server and Tools: MSSQL (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio) and pgAdmin. Join our team

The Testing community is one of the bigger communities at EPAM India. They are an active bunch, whose love for code transcends everything else. They had an action packed 2019, where a lot of community members organized many tech talks and collaborative learning events. Their sessions covered a range of topics like:<ul><li>API Testing series workshop - where they focused each week on different types of API testing. They brought in SMEs who covered the entire gamut of Functional, Performance, Automation and Security testing under the API series. Speakers used live case studies as demo examples to make their sessions more relatable and easier to comprehend.</li><li>Internal Test-Auto-Thon, where close to 25 teams participated in it. This was basically a hackathon for software test engineers where participants were required to implement an automation and integration workflow involving multiple test scenarios for a web application. The test scenarios include Web UI scenarios (desktop & mobile) as well web service end point(s). Of the 25 teams who participated, the top 4 teams were chosen to represent EPAM India at the All-India Testautothon competition organised by Step-In across three cities - Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Pune.</li></ul>

For the external events, the community forged new partnerships with Null Hyderabad & Step-In communities, who designed interesting community meetup experiences for us. 
With Step-In, EPAM engineers participated in the all-India Testautothon contests in Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. The team at Hyderabad won the second place in this testautothon. Congratulations to Srinivas Jonnala, Satya Prasad
During the months of September & October, the community did two events with Null Hyderabad - one on IOT Communication Security. The other Null event was the community's 100th event, where EPAMers Harikrishna Valugonda and Sai Palvai took key sessions. Hari spoke about how to look for sensitive information like cloud secret keys, passwords, etc., from the git repositories of an application. He demonstrated manual ways to obtain the info and using some automated tools. Sai spoke about escaping docker containers, where he demonstrated techniques on how to escape attackers who access the file system by exploiting various misconfigurations inside the docker.

The garage is a busy place — and not just because of all the innovation, testing, and thinking that happens there. Guests can range from EPAM’s developers, coders, and engineers, to top management, important clients, and ordinary students. The community is working on a host of projects, some of which are mentioned below:<ul><li>Air Pollution Tracker - The project is developed in the view to create a system that can monitor and control air pollution within a premise.</li><li>Gross Company Happiness Meter - Monitoring emotions among the employees by reading facial vectors through camera captured images</li><li>BET (Book EPAM Transport) App – An internal “uber” app that allows employees to book EPAM transport cabs for drops and pick ups to nearest metro stations</li><li>Guide in the Dark – A guide for the visually impaired to assess their environment and give them voice based inputs</li></ul>
The community also conducted an Engineers’ Week in September 2019. They hosted a slew of workshops and activities aimed at learning and collaboration. Global EPAM speakers were invited to speak about new trends in Design thinking. They also conducted a Design Thinking workshop for EPAM India Garage innovators and EPAM kids. During this week, EPAM India Garage also did an exhibition demonstration of all their projects.

In Japan, a DOJO is a place to train, compete and achieve ranks in martial arts. In our case, the DOJO is where programmers become stronger by exchanging knowledge and just having a good time. Coding DOJO can take different forms. One example is how developers get together to do kata – simple tasks for improving their engineering mastery. Another form is Codenjoy, or coding for fun, where participants create bots and compete in simple games. Coding DOJO at EPAM is something much bigger than just fun meetups. At EPAM India Coding DOJO needed only six months to become a large-scale practice. We did a total of 16 events with about 800 participants in 2019!

India now has about 25 senseis who are actively growing the community and acting as mentors and coaches for game participants. One such sensei is engineer Varma Datla says, “Coding DOJO is three hours of fun, where you get away from your daily grind, meet people from other projects or even accounts, look at technical problems ‘right here, right now’ and straightaway get to solving them. It’s a competition where you see your and others’ results right at the end of the game, and you’re always curious about your colleagues’ algorithms and strategies.

“From the engineer’s perspective, Coding DOJO is fun — and that makes it good from the business perspective. When we were just starting to conduct these meetups, we had only a few participants. But word of mouth got out, and we’ve grown quickly. We bring in new games and mix up players who know different technologies to keep their interest.”
Community manager Sameena Ali says, “Under the Engineering Excellence program in India, we work with various platforms, especially Coding DOJO. Indians love to communicate, experiment with new things and improve their skills. It’s just a part of our culture. We are trying to build a Culture of Togetherness to promote a spirit of teamwork amongst our employees. We got started in March of this year and conduct at least two meetings a month. The entire EPAM India team is grouped into 6 'houses', who participated in a string of friendly competitions to win the Best House of the year. Amongst these competitions, ENGX Coding Dojo was one of the major tournaments. Over 12 weeks, 600 employees from 6 houses participated and cheered their teams in this tournament. The tournament was won by Aishwarya Bommisetty, Praveen Mustepally, and Rajeev Marrapu.”

In its classical Japanese sense, a dojo is a place for developing martial arts skills — for everyone, from toddlers to the highest-ranking masters. Coding DOJO does the same thing, only with engineering mastery. It’s a virtual environment where engineers perfect their programming skills. As with martial arts dojos, Coding DOJO welcomes developers of all levels, from newcomers to seasoned professionals.
This is important for EPAM, because we create complex solutions that are constantly changing — and the platforms, languages, methodologies and industries change along with them. It is critical that we, in turn, constantly improve our skills.

Celebrating 5 Years of EPAM India - 2020

Creatively captioned as Sherlock, Watson and J-Baat series, these tech sessions focus on in-depth discussions and collaborative learnings on every topic in the world of Java. Some of the topics they covered through the year are:<ul><li>Graph Database</li><li>Backend for Frontend pattern</li><li>3-part series on Angular 7</li><li>Transactions in Mircroservices</li><li>Functional Programming Idioms in Scala</li><li>Reactive Architecture: Domain Driven Design(DDD)</li><li>IOT enabled Microservices solution for Pollution control</li></ul>

The community also partners with JUG-Hyderabad at regular intervals to host interesting speakers at EPAM. In August, they invited the highly popular Java speaker Dr. Venkat Subramaniam – Author & founder of Agile INC. to our Hyderabad office, where he spoke to an audience of about 250 engineers (both EPAMers and others). Dr. Venkat spoke about the evolution of Java from 9 to 12. Peppered with humorous witticisms and coding as he spoke, he showed the implementations of Java features LIVE across Java versions to enable the audience to experience the evolution of Java in all its splendor!

EPAM’s India Java User Group conducted 34 meetups and tech sessions in 2019! From inviting external speakers, to hosting internally conducted tech discussions the community was easily one of the most active ones at EPAM.

EPAM Agile Community in partnership with Agile Network India (ANI) hosted a group of engineers and agile enthusiasts to discuss various ways in which we can inculcate the agile mindset in our daily work. We had speakers from different organizations who presented on a range of topics.
First speaker, Arjun Majumdar (Agile Coach, F5 Networks) took a session on "Employee Engagement in Agile World". He spoke about employee motivators, building an agile culture at work, and how leadership models can be redefined using agile - as a part of his Employee Engagement session. One interesting takeaway from his session was about nurturing leaders, which involves; Finding & Shaping Brilliance, Creating Goal Clarity & Alignment, Boldly Raising the Bar after each success!
The second speaker Satya Yellapantula (Scrum Master, Pegasystems) spoke about "Engaged Retrospectives" with new or geographically distributed teams. From ice-breaking fun games to mood connect survey of "glad, mad, sad" - she showed how simple games could be used to deepen the bond within the team, increase trust and break the monotony of routine. She also spoke about a "Library of Games" as an employee engagement medium, a fascinating concept some organizations use to foster team spirit. 
The last speaker of this session was our very own EPAMer Ratan Das (Scrum Master & Sr. Delivery Mgr, EPAM Systems), who presented our globally successful case study of building Agile distributed teams as a part of the Mastercard GDPR project. He spoke about how, when it came to globally distributed teams, the biggest deterrent to implementing agile methodology is, not surprisingly, physical location. Some of the factors that must be considered to effectively implement agile methodology include team efficiency and productivity, real-time implementation feedback and team alignment.

This forum is a first step towards providing a unified direction to initiate collective action towards creating a gender balanced workplace at EPAM India.

The launch was marked by activities such as a Tech Talk series on ‘Next Wave Technology’ by EPAMers, an exclusive Coding Dojo challenge for women coders in Hyderabad, an external speaker session at Pune by two engaging women leaders - Mrs. Kavita Kulkarni - CHRO at Varroc Engineering Limited, and Mrs. Sulabha Deuskar - Vice principal & Head, Dept of Electronic Science, Modern college.
Bhargavi Sriram won the Tech Talk series, while Anita Tripuraneni & Aishwarya Bommisetty won the Women’s Coding Dojo challenge.
Celebrations galore, deeply insightful talks, and engaging conversations marked this launch. Ponnaga V - Delivery Manager, summed the context and the reason behind why a Women in technology forum is important - "A balanced workforce ensures a diverse range of perspectives and ideas, thereby driving productivity and innovation higher in organizations. This in turn leads to higher revenues. Gender diversity is more than just a feminist topic, it is the need of the hour for all businesses and countries."

We kicked off March 2019 with the launch of the India chapter of Women in technology forum.

At EPAM, we believe that people are the key to building a unique culture and achieving success. With that in mind, we've developed several programs to attract, engage and develop the best people, programs that tie together EPAM’s shared values and individual success.
EPAM India’s introduction of the Voluntary Leave Donation Policy (VLDP) is one such effort. 
We spoke with Shashikanth Bondugula, Head of HR for EPAM India, about why this unique idea was introduced and how it works.
What is Voluntary Leave Donation Policy (VLDP)? 
VLDP is a policy under which an EPAM India associate may voluntarily donate their earned leaves to another associate who is undergoing a personal or medical crisis and has exhausted his/her personal leave balance. 
What was the objective behind this policy? 
One of the key values of EPAM culture is that we always "Act as a team." When one team member faces a crisis, then the entire team stands behind that member and supports them. Emergency events occur without warning and knowing that your team has your back in such a crisis is always reassuring. VLDP was conceptualized keeping this value in mind.
A lot of us accumulate leaves and sometimes don't end up using them. If those unused leaves could benefit another associate in times of a crisis, then it just seems like the right thing to do.
How does this policy work? 
We have defined a detailed process for associates to avail this benefit. Some key steps involved in this policy workflow are:<ul><li>Associate submits their application for availing VLDP to a panel (made up of immediate reporting manager and the HR Team).</li><li>A detailed investigation of the case is done by the panel to determine the authenticity, urgency and a permissible number of leaves to sanction. This is done within a stipulated amount of time.</li><li>Once the application is approved, a request for donation is sent out to all India associates.</li><li>Associates then contribute leaves as per their wish and discretion.</li><li>Once the requisite number of leaves are collected, they are then credited to the associate in need.</li></ul>
Are there any kinds of limitations to avail VLDP? 
VLDP is available to all EPAM India associates. However, some checks have been put in place to ensure that this benefit is utilized in the way it is meant to be. Some of these checks are:<ul><li>VLDP can be availed by associates who have completed a minimum of 6 months of tenure with EPAM.</li><li>An associate is eligible to apply for a VLDP only once in a year.</li><li>Associates are not permitted to donate more than half of their annual leaves.</li><li>And as mentioned earlier, VLDP can only be availed for a personal or medical crisis only.</li></ul>
How many associates have availed this policy so far? 
It's been 6 months since we have launched this policy, and 8 EPAMers have availed this benefit so far. Associates have donated close to 70 leaves in this period! The fact that so many associates, who may or may not have a direct connect with the leave recipient, have donated their leaves heartily goes to show that we practice the values we preach. This is a true representation of the Culture of Togetherness at EPAM India. 
Testimonials from Associates who have availed VLDP:
“After having been diagnosed with a chronic illness, I had to undergo a couple of surgeries followed by an extended treatment and recovery period. This was exhausting both physically and financially, since an extended leave meant a Loss of Pay too.
While I was in the middle of my treatment, VLDP was introduced and it turned out to be a savior for me. The whole process of availing the leave was seamless and so many people were donating their leave. At least now I did not have to worry about LOP while fighting my medical battles.
Thanks to Shashi and team for being so thoughtful and introducing this policy. It is very helpful and a kind gesture of showing support towards the associates who are in critical need"

Welcoming Ashim Srivastava, who has joined us as Director Project Management in EPAM India.
Ashim has nearly 2 decades of experience working in IT Services and Product Engineering organizations. In his last role at CapGemini, he was leading the Cloud and DevSecOps Services portfolio, as part of the Cloud Automation Practice for the Financial Services Vertical. Focus areas included Cloud Application Migration, Cloud Automation and related Cloud Platform Managed services. Prior to that he was heading the Cloud Computing CoE at Zensar Technologies in delivering Cloud & DevOps innovation and engineering capabilities at scale. Ashim led the Cloud SaaS portfolio at Tech Mahindra for nearly 6 years as part of the CTO Engineering team where is focus was on GTM and Delivery Management. For nearly a decade, Ashim led Product Engineering teams at Cisco Systems in the Bay Area where he was closely involved with the product development lifecycle of the Cisco ISR (c2800/3800 series) routers and other data technologies. Ashim has completed his MBA from INSEAD, MS in Computer Science from USC, Los Angeles and Bachelor of Engineering in Comp Engineering from the University of Mumbai. He is based in Hyderabad, is a travel and news junkie and enjoys his weekends spending time with his wife Pooja and two daughters Avantika and Avika.

We welcome Dmitry Galyuk, who has joined EPAM India as Director Software Engineering.
Dmitry joined EPAM in 2005 as .NET developer. While at EPAM Belarus, he was the head of BY/IN integration helping in establishing connection between Belarus and India delivery units by building practices in India (hiring / staffing, trainings, rotations), landing new projects and solving the delivery escalations. He was also the founder of “Interview Service and Technical Interview certification program” at EPAM, and led the program between 2015-2017. Being MSTD presales coordinator, he collaborated between NA presales team with MS, BA, and Java competencies. He was also the supervisor for Minsk .NET Lab and he introduced online lab and modernized training program.
Dmitry has completed his graduation from Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Specialist Degree on Information Technologies And Control In Engineering Systems. He is based in Hyderabad and will initially focus on two key accounts – Schlumberger and Schneider Electric. He will also be supporting on Microsoft Practice and engage in RM activities where relevant across the BU’s and Practices.

We welcome Kalyan Vadrevu, who has joined us as Director, Talent Acquisition in EPAM India.
Kalyan has more than 23 years of experience in Human Resources function with a major focus on Talent Acquisition. Kalyan was associated with companies like Franklin Templeton Investments, Wells Fargo, UBS, IBM, Satyam, and Divine. He has setup Talent Acquisition from scratch for Global and Domestic IT services and for large Financial Captive Organizations. He holds a post graduate degree in Human Resource Management from Andhra University. He is based in Hyderabad and is an avid reader, has a collection of more than 1000 books in his personal library. He is also interested in painting.

We welcome Rashma Raveendra, who has joined us as Senior Director, Delivery Management in EPAM India.
Rashma has close to 22 years of experience in the IT industry. She comes with Product Development / Product Engineering background and has held positions of Engineering Lead and Site Leader. She has led various functions such as System Engineering, QA, Development and Delivery Management in her tenure prior to the Site Leader role.
Rashma started her career at a startup and later was associated with companies such as NDS, Cisco and Synamedia. Rashma is passionate about building quality conscious and high performing teams. She is based out of Bangalore. She is an avid nature admirer, trekker, loves adventure and running. Rashma is a proud mother of two adorable children.
