Lead Java Developer with AWS

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining a set of Java monolith and microservices used for text metadata extraction. Your role will involve analyzing complex text-based problems and developing algorithmic solutions with a focus on functionality, performance, scalability, and robustness. You will also play a crucial part in the development lifecycle, including release build and deployment, process automation, and continuous integration for application development and AWS services.

responsibilities

participate in the analysis, design and development of cloud applications and services within AWS platform, for supporting solutions for financial systems
responsibility for developing and successfully delivering components. Additionally, you will also improve, support and follow Expedia SDLC
collaboration with business and engineering teams to co-develop efficient and scalable solutions
focusing on improving development and architecture standards by adopting industry-standard methodologies
demonstration of the ability to multi-task while ensuring high-quality of results and have the dedication to high code quality and testing standards
demonstration of experience to work through/around blocking events and deploy complex yet elegant and efficient solutions
involvement in product feature development, and will be working in close partnership with our teams across all our offices around the world

requirements

experience in software development with at least 5+ years' experience in enterprise Java development and 5+ years in building web services and applications in AWS cloud platform
experience in developing RESTful Web Services in cloud platforms. Deep knowledge of building scalable web systems with microservice architecture is a must
experience developing web services using frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot etc. with strong experience in RDBMS, SQL tuning and high-volume data processing
experience with native AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, API Gateway
familiar with high-volume systems, microservice design, continuous delivery, automated deployments, and related engineering practices
excited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks - love all aspects of application development, from brainstorming and design to implementation and launch
skill sets and experience in open-source frontend frameworks such as React and Angular is highly desirable
communication with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate
