EPAM India and CII Launch Partnership to Further Tech Education in Schools

For the last three months, EPAM India’s CSR team has worked extensively to identify NGOs who meet EPAM global CSR focus areas of education, environment and community. One of the organizations is the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which has over 8,500 members and has an indirect membership of over 200,000 enterprises from 265 national and regional sectoral industry bodies.

In March 2018, Shanthi Kumar Chilumula, Director, Workforce Planning and Management, EPAM India and V Rajanna, Chairman of CII Telengana and Vice President & Regional Head, Global Head-Technology Business Unit of Tata Consultancy Services celebrated the start of the partnership in the presence of Sri E S L Narasimhan, Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and 300+ CII member companies.

EPAM and CII will partner to further tech education in the country through digital literacy, career counseling and library initiatives. EPAM’s eKids program encourages young children to explore software engineering by leveraging MIT’s Scratch Program and close mentoring opportunities with EPAM’s employees. EPAM and CII will work together to select the schools that participate in EPAM eKids, train teachers in the schools, monitor the progress of students, and set up libraries and science labs in selected schools. Additionally, EPAM and CII will provide career counseling and guidance services for students from tribal communities in Hyderabad. Exposing students to different career opportunities and assisting them in developing an action plan and learning necessary skills will help them build their dream careers.

EPAM is excited to kick off our official partnership with CII and support the tech education of students across India.
